Mom was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Besides taking care of her own family, mom had a special touch and a big heart and was always there when we needed her. She raised and cared for children that sought her and who grew to know and love her. In the earlier years, although we were poor, mom never refused anyone who was hungry, a plate of food. Mom became a "special grandma" to those children as well. Mom's most enjoyable times were when she traveled with dad on their road trips in his semi-trucks. They loved stopping at casinos during those road trips. Our mother was the backbone and the strength of our family. She will live forever in our hearts and mind. We have so many cherished memories of our mother and we will truly miss her.
A huge special thanks to our family members that have been there with us during her illness. A very heartfelt thanks for her granddaughter, Emma Denise Reyes, who never left her side during her time in need.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission at 10 a.m. on June 2. Burial follows at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Manuel "Manny" Cavazos III, Ricardo Rendon, Hector Bourbois Jr., Rigo Rendon, J.J. Silva, Joey Bourbois, Charlie Reyes, Joel Silva, Dereck Silva and Bryan Bourbois.
