OBIT-George Batista Pelizzari

MISSION, TEXAS – George Batista Pelizzari, 71, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Nursing Home in McAllen.

He was born on May 22, 1942, in La Follette, Tenn. to John Batista and Della Mae (Baird) Pelizzari who preceded him in death.

Mr. Pelizzari retired from Chrysler in Missouri after 32 years of service with UAW. He retired to Mission in 1999. He served in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis and was a member of the American Legion Post 37 of McAllen and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5331 of Cedar Hill, Mo.

Survivors include his companion, Beverly Thorsen; son, C. David Pelizzari; daughter, Shannon Ruth Pelizzari; and three grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in Eureka, Mo. and will be announced at a later date. Interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
