MISSION - Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" Saenz, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Monday, June 6, 2011, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
She will always be remembered for her great love of life; she really enjoyed playing Bingo. She encompassed the classic South Texas woman, enjoying spending time together as a family, cooking great meals, and caring for others.
She is survived by her sons Rafael (Almira) Saenz of Crozet, VA, Jose Jesus (Rosie) Solis of Alamo; daughters Berta (Jose) Alvarado of Mission, Maria Estella (Ricardo) Casarez of Mission, Hermini a Ramirez of Mission, Maria de los Angeles Chavez of Mission. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Gabriel Saenz, and her mother, Maria Del Socorro Raya.
Visitation will be held June 8 from 5-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. A funeral mass will be held June 9 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
