OBIT-Ines Hernandez

MISSION - Ines "Nachita" Hernandez, 89, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Mission Regional Medical Center.

She was born in McAllen on Jan. 21, 1925.

Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Hernandez and Norma Hernandez, both from Mission, and Anna Lozano of Harlingen; sister, Esperanza Flores of Mission; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Octavio Hernandez; parents, Herminio and Eufemia Mata; sons, Martin and Mario Hernandez; and two brothers, Jesus and Rogelio Mata.

The funeral mass was held on Aug. 16 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment followed at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.

Pallbearers were Robert Lozano, Jaime Flores, Rey Ramon, Beto Peña, Antonio Segura and Domingo Del Angel. Honorary pallbearers were Osvaldo Ochoa, Jesus Gonzalez, Santiago Garcia, Rey Ramon, Thomas Lindenmuth and Ruben Mata.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Building Fund.
