MISSION - Lilia De La Garza Flores, 86, passed away on June 21, 2011, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

She will always be remembered as a very loving and giving person by all who knew her. She enjoyed so many things including bingo, crocheting, gardening, and making the world's greatest tortillas, pan de polvo, and carne de venado. She loved to spend time with her family at the 3F Ranch in San Isidro.

She is survived by her sons, Miguel A. (Estela) Flores Jr. of Mission and Mario A. (Aminta) Flores of Mission; daughter-in-law, Nina Flores of Mission; sister-in-law/daughter, Maria Merced Ibanez of Mission; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; siblings, Luisa (Leonel) Perez, Jose Santos (Nieves+) De La Garza, Manuel (Albesa) De La Garza, and Juan (Cuca) De La Garza.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Santos and Victoria E. De La Garza; husband, Miguel A. Flores Sr.; son, Jose Luis Flores; and sisters, Araceli Garza and Rebecca Ochoa.

A rosary will be held Thursday, June 23, at 6:30 p.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Visitation will be held Friday, June 24, from 6-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, June 25, at 10 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Burial follows at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jose Luis Flores, Jr., Arthur F. Flores, Omar Fuentes, David De La Garza, Jaime De La Garza, and Steven K. Garza II. Honorary pallbearers will be Ramon (Erendira) Hernandez.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Mission FFA Alumni Association/Flores Scholarship Fund, 1802 W. 18th Street, Mission, TX 78572.
