OBIT: Ellis Nix

Ellis Nix, 82 was born on May 13, 1929, and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Mission Nursing Home.

He was involved in the sand and gravel trucking business for almost 40 years and was vice-president/supervisor of Havana Materials and president of Star Transport.

He is survived by his wife, Parthenia Faye Nix; son, David Wayne Nix; daughter, Janice Linn Cantu; grandchildren, Savanah Jayne Cantu and Preston Ellis Cantu; sister, Laverne (Bobby) Little; and sister-in-law, Nellie Nix.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George S. Nix and Olla Bell Eggers, and a brother, Clint S. Nix.

The funeral service will be held at RGV State Veteran’s Cemetery on June 29 at 11 a.m.
