ALTON - Eleazar "Che-Che" DeLeon Cantu, 64, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at his residence in Alton.
He is survived by his wife Adriana Ortiz Cantu; daughter Ruby Ann (Juan) Sanchez, stepdaughters Rebecca (Everardo) Cantu, Michele (Jose Lorenzo) Ibanez, and Karen, Adriana, Cynthia, and Mary Chuy Zuniga Cantu; mother, Lucia Cantu; brothers, Emilio (Dora) Cantu, Rodolfo (Marina) Cantu; sisters, Oralia Cantu, Maria G. Salinas, Carolina (Juan) Caratachea, Lydia (Ezequel) Gutierrez, and Elizabeth (Ricardo) Cerda; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his fathe,r Jose G. Cantu, and sister, Myra Evett Vargas.
The funeral mass will be held Monday, August 8, at 10:30 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricardo Cerda, Ezequel Gutierrez, Rodolfo Cantu Jr., Enrique Cantu, Cesar Olivarez, Ramiro Garza, Everardo Cantu, and Juan Rosales Jr.
