MISSION – Josefa “Pepa” P. Sanchez, 84, passed away at her residence in Mission on August 25, 2011. She was a Catholic and attended services at the Basilica in San Juan.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Domingo Sanchez of Mission; children, Aurora Garza, Rosa M. Flores, Yolanda Garza, Dora Garza, San Juanita Garza, Josefa H. Pena, Mario A. Sanchez, Juan J Sanchez, Carlos H. Sanchez, Jose G. Sanchez, and Jorge Partida-Sanchez; and 42 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Natividad and Amelia Partida; sons, Domingo Sanchez Jr. and Carlos H. Sanchez; daughter, Florinda Sanchez; and granddaughter, Jessica Cecilia Sanchez.
A funeral mass was held Aug.29 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
