Prep Football: A look back at the 2010 season

When 32-4A and 30-5A's best fell last weekend in the area round of the state playoffs, it concluded a memorable season that began with much anticipation.

When two-a-days came around in August the community talk centered around questions like: Can Sharyland repeat? How will defending District 32-4A champ Mission fair in the realm of 5A? Can former McAllen Memorial defensive coordinator Ray Trdla turn the program around in La Joya? Are the Patriots capable of competing for a district championship in 32-4A? Will Palmview, behind quarterback Javier Femat, reach bi-district? Is Juarez-Lincoln capable of a playoff appearance as well?

Roadrunners walk-off for game one win

EDINBURG, Texas---The Edinburg Roadrunners defeated the Amarillo Dillas 3-2 in 10 innings with a walk-off double from Nelson Teilon at Edinburg Baseball Stadium to take a 1-0 lead in the United League Baseball Championship Series.

Errors cost Roadrunners game two, series tied

EDINBURG, Texas---The Edinburg Roadrunners committed three costly errors helping the Amarillo Dillas take game two of the United League Championship Series with a score of 6-3 Saturday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

With the series tied at 1-1, both teams head to Amarillo for games three, four and five (if necessary).

The Dillas (1-1) got the scoring started in the top of the first against Jose Pablo Oyervidez (1-1). Carlos Figueroa hit a two-out single to center field and then moved to second after a throwing error. Julio Martinez followed with an RBI single allowing Figueroa to score making it 1-0 Amarillo.
