EDINBURG, Texas—The Edinburg Roadrunners dropped the second game of their four-game series with a 16-11 loss to the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings after both teams combined for 36 hits Thursday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium in front of 3,821.
The WhiteWings (30-24) got on the scoreboard in the top of the second inning against Scott Wingo (3-4). Gerardo Avila hit an RBI single that allowed Leivi Ventura to score from second. Wilmer Pino then followed with a two-run home run giving RGV the 3-0 lead.

Dispite a disappointing bi-district loss to Laredo United, the Sharyland Rattlers baseball team had an outstanding season – 13-0 in district play – supported by a top-notch lineup of players. The recently released all-district list proves the point, as the Rattlers led the district with the most selections: eleven placements on the first and second teams.
