OBIT-Dorothy L. Toothaker

SOUTHLAKE – Dorothy L. Toothaker, 94, passed away on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, in Southlake.

Dorothy Louise Hager was born in Upland, Calif. on Nov. 15, 1919, and attended schools in Redlands, Calif. In 1934, her family moved to Weslaco. She married Joe Heacock, a WW II casualty, and then married Scott Toothaker and lived in Mission until 1950 when the family moved to McAllen. In 2008, she moved to Grapevine.

She was a charter member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, a member of Chapter BV, P.E.O, 20th Century Book Club, McAllen Junior Service League, McAllen Child Study Club, Mission Junior Service League, McAllen Traffic Commission, and was active in the PTA and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for many years.

A funeral service was held on Dec. 27 at St. Mark United Methodist Church in McAllen followed by a private family burial.

Survivors include her children, Gary Toothaker and Jane Ellen Humphrey; and nine grandchildren.
