OBIT-Kathleen I. Bruce

WASHINGTON/MISSION – Kathleen I. Bruce, 91, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at her home in Mount Vernon, Washington.

Mrs. Bruce was born in Stoutland, Mo., to Fred and Rowena Jacobs in 1922, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She went to Southwest Missouri State College and married her husband, Bob, in 1941. They lived in Missouri, Virginia, Hawaii and Mission for 30 plus years.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Deegan, and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; son, Bill; and grandson, Jonathan Davenport.

Services will be held next summer in Missouri. Memorials may be made to her church, First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1646, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
