OBIT-Ruben Martinez Sr.

PENITAS – Ruben Martinez Sr., 76, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at McAllen Heart Hospital.

Mr. Martinez was born May 15, 1937 in San Isidro to Abel and Maria Elvia Martinez.

Survivors include his children, Gracie Sanders, Liza Hinson, Ruben Martinez Jr.; siblings, Edelmira Obregon, Sandalio Martinez, Abel Martinez and Joel Martinez; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Dalia Martinez.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Lord & I Funeral Home in Peñitas. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Peñitas.
