OBIT-Eulalia F. Longoria

20140221 OBIT Eulalia-LongoriaMISSION – Eulalia “Lala” F. Longoria, 82, left to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2014 at her residence in Mission.

Mrs. Longoria was born to Jose Maria and Maria R. Fuentes on February 12, 1932 in Mission, Texas. She married the love of her life, Jose “Joe” S. Longoria, in 1950. She spent 30 years working at Mission Dry Goods and, upon retiring, establishing and managing Country Breeze RV Park just north of Mission where she and Joe made many lifelong friends.

Lala was very active in many church organizations over the years, including serving as a Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the Altar Society, Parish Board, and most recent the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Lala was selfless in her dedication to her loved ones throughout her life, including her parents, in-laws, and for over thirty years, her beloved husband, Joe.

She is now reunited with him, her parents, her brothers and sisters, and her grandson, Jaime A. Longoria.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sylvia (Marvin) Wolf; her sons, Javier (Tracy) Longoria, Roland (Leila) Longoria and Jaime (Sary) Longoria; and her grandchildren, Penny Wolf, James, Aissa, Joel, Anthony, Kristen and Joseph Longoria, and Madison and James Adair. Other survivors include her brother, Baldemar (Guadalupe) Fuentes Sr.; sisters-in-law, Consuelo Fuentes, Minerva Gonzales, Lydia Longoria and Dolores Longoria; brother-in-law, Mauricio Meza; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mrs. Ofelia Morales for her many years of friendship.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Virgil Wilson Memorial Chapel in Mission. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
