OBIT-James Edward Daniels

James Edward Daniels, 72, of Tower, Minn. and Mission, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn.

He was born November 14, 1941, in Glenwood, Minn., the son of Gerald and Annabelle (Lattimer) Daniels. He graduated from Hibbing High School and went on to attend a trade school welding program. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He marriedAlicia Frausto in Edinburg.

Mr. Daniels worked for U.S. Steel, Minntac, as a welder, retiring in 1996. He was past president of the USW Union Local #1938, and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 8510 in Hibbing.

Survivors include his wife, Alicia; daughters, Sandy Daniels-Milton of Kinney, Minn., Paula Ostrander of Buhl, Minn. and Michelle Stenger of Buhl; sister, JoAnn Norenberg of Hibbing; brothers, Stan and Tom Daniels of Hibbing and Terry Daniels of St. Paul, Minn.; and 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, at Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Quanbeck will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Military honors will be under the direction of VFW Post #8510.
