OBIT-Dennis E. Carnes
MISSION – Dennis E. Carnes, 70, of Mission, passed away on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014.
Mr. Carnes was born on April 10, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio. In 1966, he was married in Monroe, Michigan to Rosie Lara. He served as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. He worked as a professional truck driver for most of his life and then retired from the City of McAllen Public Works as a waste management supervisor.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Rosie Carnes; children, Denice Carnes, David Carnes and Teresa Comparin; sister, Joann Poleski; and nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Donald Carnes; mother, Ruth Carnes; and brother, Jim Carnes.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 4, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A memorial service will follow there at 7 p.m.
The family has requested that living plants or donations be sent as memorials in his name to the Pregnancy Testing Center of the RGV, 216 E. Tom Landry, Mission, TX 78572.
