OBIT-Santiago Garza

MISSION – Santiago “Chagito” Garza, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at his home in Mission.

Mr. Garza was born Nov. 27, 1928 to Jose and Paula Garza in Fordyce.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Maria Guadalupe Garza; children, Carla P. Garza, Connie Garza, Rosa M. Tovar, Maria Del Rosario Garza, Marivel Garza, Santiago Garza Jr. and Cassandra Garza; siblings, Pedro Garza, Antonia Garcia, Elva Flores and Alberto Garza; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dominga Vela, Juana Gomez, Eusebio Garza, Carlos Garza, Celedonio Garza, Idolinda Pecina and Lionel Garza.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 21, at 10 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.

Serving as pallbearers will be Santiago Garza Jr., Javier Tovar, Lalo Vela, Adriana Garza, Noe Garza, Ricardo Garza and Alejandro Villarreal Jr.
