OBIT-Rosalinda E. Lopez
MISSION – Rosalinda E. Lopez, 88, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Lopez was born in Mission on Sept. 29, 1925.
Survivors include her children, Arturo Garces, Gloria Rivera, Fernando Lopez, Rene Lopez, Israel Lopez, Evangelina Hernandez, Salomon Lopez, Ernestina Lopez, Norma Mata, Leonardo Lopez and Iris Marquez; siblings, Pedro Escalante, Margarita Villegas, Francisca Garcia, and Micaela Escalante; and 35 grandchildren and19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Asencion Escalante and Justa Medellin; husband, Jose Maria Lopez; son, Ruben Lopez; sisters, Herminia Villegas and Maria Villarreal; and grandchildren, Adam Lopez and Antonio W. Garces.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Flores Funeral Home in Mission. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 28, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Mission. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
