OBIT-Jose Guadalupe Rodriguez

MISSION – Jose Guadalupe Rodriguez, 79, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at his home. Born in Mexico, Mr. Rodriguez was self-employed as a landscaper and yard maintenance.

Survivors include his sons, Guadalupe Rodriguez and Jaime Rodriguez of Mission and Celso Rodriguez of Omaha, Neb.; daughters, Maria Estela Rodriguez of Mission, Imelda Rodriguez Longoria of Houston and Oralia Aguilar of Laredo; brothers, Luis Rodriguez of Omaha, Manuel Rodriguez of San Juan, Ramiro Rodriguez of Kansas and Ernesto Rodriguez of McAllen; sisters, Georgina Mancilla of Omaha and Aurora Rodriguez of Osceola; and 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margarita Herebia; daughter, Margarita Rodriguez; and brother, Juan Pablo Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, from 3 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
