OBIT-Manuel Farias Jr.

MISSION – Manuel “Meme” Farias Jr., 80, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at his home in Mission.

Mr. Farias was born in Mission on Aug. 8, 1933.

Survivors include his son, Joe Farias; daughters, Norma Linda Farias Soto, Marta Nunnaly, Cynthia Anabel Flores, Yvette Farias and Roxie Lugo; siblings, Isaac Farias, Simon Barrera, Guadalupe Barrera, Juan Barrera Jr., Gloria Linda Farias Sanchez, Amada Cortinas, Maria Perez, Juanita Hernandez, Beatrice Rangel, and Felicitas Navarro; and 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Farias Sr. and Angela Perales; wife, Margot Farias; and stepmother, Alicia Farias.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Flores Funeral Home in Mission. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 25, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at R.G.V. State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
