OBIT-Quintin Townsend

MISSION – Quintin Townsend, 90, passed away at Mission Regional Medical Center on Friday, May 2, 2014.

A longtime area farmer and rancher, he was born at home to Charles and Virginia Townsend in McAllen/Sharyland. He lived all his life on Taylor Road and graduated from McAllen High School. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Mission where he sang in the church choir and served on the parish council. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2698.

Survivors include his brothers, John Sr., Pat Sr., and Mike Sr., all of Mission, and sister, Margaret of San Antonio.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles W. and Alfred Townsend, and sister, Mary Ann Townsend.

A rosary will be held on Monday, May 5, at 7 p.m. at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 6, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s with Rev. Greg Kuczmanski officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
