OBIT-Benny Wilson

MISSION – Benny Wilson, 92, of Mission, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014.

Born in Spangle, Wash. on August 13, 1921, he came to Texas with the Army Air Force and was stationed at Moore Air Base where he was a tail gunner. He continued to live in Mission and went to work for Irrigation Districts 7 and 14, first as a canal rider, eventually retiring as a water master.

Survivors include his children, Ann Bynum, Diana Ford, Tommy Wilson and Bobby Wilson; and 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally, and two grandsons, Daniel Wilson and Hans Wagner.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.

Pallbearers will be Robbe Lankford, Timber Wilson, Cory Wilson, Dusty Wilson, Micah Bynum, Jared Bynum and Tristan Caballero.
