OBIT-Jose I. Muñoz

MISSION – Jose I. Muñoz, 76, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at his home in Mission.

Mr. Muñoz was born in Escobares on Aug. 17, 1937, and was the owner of Joe’s Meat Market for 25 years.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carmen F. Muñoz; children, Carmen Leticia Muñoz, Jose Israel Muñoz Jr. and Jose Eduardo Muñoz; sister, Minerva Gonzalez; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Muñoz and Manuela Ramos.

The funeral mass was held on June 23 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
