OBIT-Rene Garza

MISSION – Rene “La Manzana” Garza, 57, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center.

Mr. Garza was born in Mission on Oct. 29, 1956, to Humberto and Maria Celina Garza.

Survivors include his parents; wife, Esperanza Garza; children, Lauro Garza, Rene Garza Jr., Cynthia Garza, David Lee Garza and Melissa Garza; brothers; Jose Gerardo Garza, Jaime Garza and Luis J. Garza; sister, Rosalinda Espronceda; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Humberto Garza Jr.

A funeral mass was held on June 24 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial followed at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
