OBIT-Socorro Guerra

MISSION – Socorro Guerra, 87, passed away on Tuesday June 24, 2014, at McAllen Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Guerra was born on Nov. 17, 1926, to Arturo and Marta Peña in Los Aldamas, N.L., Mexico.

Survivors include her sons, Jesus Guerra Jr. and Jorge Guerra; daughters, Elsa Guerra and Lucy Gonzalez; siblings, Flora Aleman, Arturo Peña, Andres Peña, Audelio Peña and Artemio Peña; and three grandsons and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jesus Guerra; son, Jose Oscar Guerra; grandson, Jorge Arturo Guerra; and sister, Eglantina Peña.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, from 2 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
