OBIT-Jose Garza

MISSION – Jose “Joe” Garza, 84, passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1929, in Mission.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Maria Carmen Garza; daughters, Maria Alma Warner and Lucy Mares; siblings, Francis Flournoy and Alonzo Garza; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Teodora Garza; siblings, Mario Garza, Gabriel Garza, Lupe Garza, Anita Pena and Aurora Pena; and a grandson, Christian Mares.

A funeral mass was held on Sept. 17 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial followed at San Jose Catholic Cemetery in Mission.
