OBIT-Esperanza Vargas
ALTON – Esperanza Vargas, 83, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at her residence in Alton. She was born in McAllen, Texas on July 24, 1931.
She is survived by her husband, Carlos Vargas Sr.; children, Ramiro Vargas, Rosalinda Vargas, Rosa Nelia Vargas, Rachel Vargas Almanza, and Erika Yvonne Cardona; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Carlos Vargas Jr.; and her parents, Hipolito Perez and Ignacia Diaz.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 31 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Flores Funeral Home in Mission. Funeral mass will be officiated Wednesday, April 1 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Pallbearers will be Ruben Cardona, Pete Rivera, Salvador Hernandez Sr., Joel Vargas, Ramiro Alberto Vargas, Ted Almanza Jr., Randy Soza, and Johnny Perez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Cardona Jr. and Pete Rivera Jr.
