OBIT-Matilde Ramirez

PEÑITAS – Matilde Ramirez, 85, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2015, in Edinburg.

Born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, she lived in Peñitas most of her life.

Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Canales of College Station; sisters, Blasita Dubernay, Albina Mata, Ofelia Gonzalez and Elida Martinez; brother, Atanacio Ramirez; and two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leobardo Ramirez.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 31, from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. the funeral home. Burial follows at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
