OBIT – Ernesto M. Gomez

MISSION – Ernesto M. Gomez, 80, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, in Edinburg.

Mr. Gomez was a U.S. Army veteran and owner of Lucky 7 Drive Inn in Alton.

Survivors include his children, Medardo Roel, Gerardo, Anabell and Gilbert Gomez; siblings, Jesus Gomez, Guadalupe Salinas and Dora Garza; and 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Maria Gomez; son, George Gomez; and parents, Jesus and Guadalupe Gomez.

A funeral mass was held on Jan. 19 at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Burial followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Military honors were conducted by V.F.W. Post 8788 of McAllen.
