OBIT – Guadalupe S. Tijerina

ALTON – Guadalupe S. Tijerina, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Solara Hospital in McAllen.

Mr. Tijerina was born to Antonio Tijerina and Matilde Salinas on April 3, 1941, at Rancho La Rosita, Tamps., Mexico.

Survivors include his wife, Hermila G. Tijerina; children, Wesley B. Tijerina, Wayne Tijerina, Guadalupe Tijerina Jr. and Patricia Tijerina; siblings, Araceli Guerra, Antonio Tijerina and Abelina Arguijo; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Juan and Abelardo Tijerina.

A funeral mass was held on June 11 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial followed at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.
