The McAllen Citizens League will host a forum on Proposition 1, the proposal calling for the establishment of a Healthcare Tax District for Hidalgo County, at its noon luncheon meeting on Thursday, Sept. 22.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Salvation Army Center on 23rd Street at Pecan in McAllen.
Invitations have been sent to parties on both sides of the issue. County Commissioner Eddie Cantu will be speaking in opposition and Dr. Martin Garza, MD will be speaking in favor of the health care district.
The meeting is open to the public and lunch is available for $12 for members and $15 for non-members.
