The medical staff at Mission Regional Medical Center (MRMC) delivered toys, clothes and blankets to more than 350 children in Sullivan City, La Joya, Peñitas, Palmview, Mission and Alton, according to a press release.
This is the third year the medical staff delivered toys to needy children and the number of families has doubled from last year to a total of 105 underprivileged families according to MRMC Community Outreach Chairwoman Nellie Ibarra.

“We have found all the families to be very humble and grateful for anything that is given to them. Some children will say they need a heater or blanket or laundry soap or mouth care products instead of a toy for themselves. ” Ibarra stated.
The medical staff at Mission Regional Medical Center plans to continue donating gifts to neighborhood children for Christmas in the years ahead with the support of volunteers and employees.
