OBIT – Petra Flemate

MISSION – Petra Ramos Flemate, 85, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Flemate was born in Odem and lived most of her life in Othello, Wash., where she was a homemaker and a factory worker. In 1983, she and her husband, Ascencion Jose Flemate, moved their family to Mission where she was employed with Right Away Foods. She retired in 1990.

Survivors include her children, Michael John Flemate of Mission and Anna Luisa Velasquez of Mission; and three grandchildren. siblings, Virginia Garza of McAllen, Juan Ramos of Richland, Wash. and Frutoso Ramos of Rockport.

She was preceded in death her husband, Ascencion Jose Flemate; parents, Frutoso Ramos and Luisa Mancias Ramos; and sisters, Maria Flores and Anita Aleman.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial follows at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
