OBIT – Flerida Garcia
MISSION – Flerida “Fita” Gorena Garcia, 89, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017, at Briarcliff Nursing & Rehab Center in McAllen.
Mrs. Garcia worked for Mission Auto Supply for more than 20 years and was a member of El Mesías United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Alfonso Gorena, and siblings, Febe Alaniz, and Arturo, Aníbal, Alí and Abel Gorena.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Santiago Garcia; children, Velma Garcia of Williamsburg, Mass., and Eduardo Garcia of McAllen; brother, Alfonso Gorena of Sharyland; and a grandson.
A funeral service was held on March 11 at Flores Funeral Home in Mission. Burial followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
