OBIT – Roy Bullard
MISSION – Roy L. Bullard, 86, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Bullard was born on Feb. 19, 1931, to Harvey William and Carrie Ann Landis Bullard in Tupelo, Okla. He married Bernice McGowan Bullard on Sept. 7, 1951, and joined the U.S. Army. He served in the Korea during the Korean War and received several medals before being honorably discharged as a corporal. He worked in the oilfield industry for 42 years where he retired as a tool pusher. He was member of the Choctaw Nation and of Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Bernice of Mission; children, Roy Lee Bullard Jr. of Irving, Dennis Bullard of Mission, Cynthia Bullard Wayland of Edinburg, Wendell Bullard of Garland and Mark Bullard of McAllen; siblings, Jody Atwell of Tulsa, Okla., Robert Bullard of Columbus, Kan., Nancy Smith of Tupelo, Okla., and Mary Lou Felkins of Ada, Okla.; and eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Clara Anderson and Ruby May Regan.
A graveside service was held on April 28 at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
