OBIT – San Juanita Alonzo

MISSION – San Juanita Alonzo, 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at her home in Mission.

A resident of Mission since 1968, Mrs. Alonzo was born in Edinburg, baptized at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission and raised in Reynosa, Tamps., Mexico.

Survivors include her children, Jorge Alonzo, Juan Ramon Alonzo, Jose Luis Alonzo, Javier Alonzo, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Maria Alicia Perez and Maria Berta Balderas; brothers, Ramon Garza and Leopoldo Garza; and 26 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Jose Garza Cruz and Francisca Ramirez de Garza; husband, Juan Alonzo; daughter, Ermelinda Alonzo; and brothers, Jose Garza, Roque Garza, Mariano Garza and Franscisco Garza.       

Visitation will be held from on Wednesday, May 24, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service and 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial follows at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
