OBIT – Maria Garza

MISSION – Maria Placida Garza, 88, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at the Grand Terrace Nursing & Rehab Center in McAllen.

Mrs. Garza was a native of Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Survivors include her sons, Ruben Cardenas Jr. of McAllen, Rigoberto Cardenas of Mission, Roel Cardenas of Mission, Raul Cardenas of Boerne and Rogelio Cardenas of Mission, and 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Cardenas Sr.

A funeral mass was held on Oct. 3 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in McAllen. Burial followed at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
