OBIT – Joel Aguilar

MISSION – Joel Vicente Aguilar, 61, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Aguilar was born in McAllen and was a retired sheriff’s deputy.

Survivors include his wife, Arminda Flores Aguilar; children, Joel Aguilar, Susann Aguilar, Angel Aguilar, Charles Aguilar and Alisha Aguilar; stepchildren, Jesus Ramon, Marlen Treviño and Eustolio Reyna; mother, Rebeca Soto Aguilar; siblings, Javier Aguilar, Ramon Aguilar, Rolando Aguilar, Jose Luis Aguilar, Estela Hernandez and Cynthia Aguilar; and 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anastacio Aguilar.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 3 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Burial follows at Lord & I Cemetery in Palmview.
