OBIT – Jose Salinas

MISSION – Jose Salinas, 76, passed away on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Doctors Hospital in Edinburg.

Mr. Salinas was born on April 26, 1941, in Mexico to Jose and Santos (Alvarado) Salinas.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Esther (Garza) Salinas; children, Juan Salinas of Bastrop, Jaime Salinas of Mission, Javier Salinas of Palmview, Geronimo Salinas of Mission, Martha Salinas of Mission and Margarita Salinas of Mission; siblings, Mateo Salinas of Garciasville, Jesus Salinas of La Joya, Odilia Treviño of La Joya, Juanita Moreno of La Joya, Raquel Rios of La Joya, Yolanda Trigo of Palmview and Emilia Alaniz of La Joya; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service was held on Nov. 13 at Rivera Funeral Home in Mission. Burial followed at Santa Fe Celestial Garden Cemetery in Mission.
