The Palmview Lobos defeated the Brownsville Veterans Memorial Chargers Friday night by a score of 28-10 to close out their regular season and clinch a playoff spot for the first time since the 2016 season.
The Lobos jumped out to an early 14-0 lead with first quarter touchdown runs by sophomore running back Carlos Pena and senior running back Mario Chapa. Chapa scored his second touchdown of the game with 6:07 remaining in the third quarter to give the Lobos a 21-7 lead. Palmview tacked on another touchdown in the fourth quarter to make the final score 28-10 and to clinch the third seed in District 16-5A-1 with a 6-3 district record.
