BRYAN/MISSION – Tillie Eyeington, 91, of Bryan, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, Parc at Traditions in Bryan.
Mrs. Eyeington was born on March 11, 1927, in Tokio and was raised in West. She attended St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption Catholic School. At the age of 16, she enrolled at the University of Texas and majored in English. After graduation at the age of 19 she returned to West to begin her teaching career. She worked for the Georgetown Housing Authority (1964-1967) and as a remedial reading instructor for the Mission CISD (1968-1981).
During her married life, she resided in West, Dangerfield, Georgetown and Mission. Her final destination brought her to Bryan to be close to her children.
Survivors include her children, Charlotte Eyeington of Pearland, Charles Eyeington of Mission, Emily Kemp of Snook, Tom Eyeington of El Paso, Jim Eyeington of Blanco, Mary Kopecki of College Station and Robert Eyeington of College Station; sibling, Christine Prebay of Auburn, Mich.; and 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 63 years, Charles Eyeington; parents, Anton and Emilye Hejl; and grandson, Charles MacClelland.
A graveside service was held on Dec. 17 at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
