24th Annual Mission Community Health Fair Attracts Hundreds
(Mission, Tx) Hundreds of people showed up at the Mission Event Center on Saturday January 12th, to take advantage of the free health screenings at the 24th Annual Mission Community Health Fair in close collaboration with The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce.
Mission Regional Medical Center provided cholesterol screenings, flu shots, bone density exams, blood pressure and cardio-pulmonary screenings, body mass index, and much more.
“As a non-profit community hospital, our mission is to improve the health of the community we serve, “said Kane Dawson, CEO, Mission Regional Medical Center. “This annual health fair is an opportunity for hundreds of people in the community to get a check-up on their health.”
“We had 10 drawing stations set up for the health fair. We screened approximately over 300 people. This is a complete cholesterol check, which includes both HDL (good cholesterol) and LDL (bad cholesterol),” said Isauro Resendez, Laboratory Director.
Many people, like Terri Sauceda, who attended the health fair expressed their appreciation.
“I come every year to get my cholesterol checked and get a bone density exam, “said Terri Sauceda of Mission. “It is such a wonderful gesture on the part of the hospital and the community.”
