MONTGOMERY – Senior Pedro Lamadrid posted his third straight round of two-under par 70 to finish tied for third at the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational on Tuesday at Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Course.
Lamadrid finished with a three-round score of 210 to finish six-under par on the tournament. He finished just one shot off the lead as UTEP’s Oskar Ambrosius and Stephen F. Austin’s Angelo Leyvani finished tied for first with three-round scores of 209.
Junior Henry Fisher and redshirt sophomore Alex Summers finished tied for 19th after posting three-round totals of 222. Both Fisher and Summers carded final round scores of 78. Junior Luca Portelli finished tied for 33rd after turning in a final round of 80 for a three-round score of 226.
As a team, UTRGV finished in fourth place with a three-round total of 873 after turning in a final round team score of 306. Host Sam Houston State took home the team title after posting a final round 287 for a three-round score of 864.
UTRGV will be back in action from April 8-9 when they tee it up at the Cowboy Classic, hosted by the University of Wyoming.
