Shooting in Alton leaves 2 dead

Alton police are investigating a shooting that left two men dead, according to a social media post from Alton PD.

Alton police arrived at the 900 Block of Jefferson Street at around 8:45 p.m. in reference to a report of a shooting and discovered two deceased male individuals on the property, the post states.

Alton Investigators are on scene conducting a homicide investigation. 

The case is in the preliminary phases and details remain limited.

In a tweet sent out at 10:33 p.m., Hidalgo County Sheriff J.E. “Eddie” Guerra announced that homicide investigators and crime scene specialists with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office are assisting Alton PD with the double homicide investigation.
