Palmview now requiring residents to wear face masks in public

Citing the safety of its residents, the city of Palmview is now requiring all residents cover their mouths while out in public.

Residents are to wear cloth like material, medical grade masks are not required.

The city announced the face mask requirement in a Friday news release that also announced new measures.

In addition to the emergency order verification check points that were announced earlier this week, the city is now limiting two adults per vehicle, and limiting one person per family to enter retail stores. Those entering retail stores must be at least 14 years old.

“These aggressive measures have been taken to continue to ensure the health and safety of all citizens, the release stated. “These decisions by no means are easy, but when lives are at risks all measures must be considered.”

The release added that though there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the city of Palmview, it is taking these measures to ensure the city remains COVID-19 free.
