A 77-year-old Mission man with underlying medical conditions died after testing positive for the COVID-19 virus, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez announced Thursday, bringing the total number of people who have died after testing positive for the disease to three.
All three are older men with underlying health issues, according to a release from the county.
In addition to the latest fatality, 10 new people in HIdalgo County have tested positive for this strain of coronavirus. That brings the total number of positive cases in the county to 235 people.
Three more people were released from isolation meaning they have shown no symptoms for ten days including the last three days without fever., bringing the total number of released patients to 42, the release stated.
There are 29 people in area hospitals and six of them are in intensive care units. All of those testing positive and those living in the same household have been ordered to isolate, according to the release.
