A Mission male infant is among the 9 new cases of COVID-19 the county announced in a Thursday news release, bringing the total to 290 positive cases in the county.
The other new cases include people from Edinburg, Elsa, Mercedes, Pharr and Donna whose ages range from 10-20 to 80s.

Of the active cases, 24 are in area hospitals; six of them are in intensive care units.
A total of 3,249 COVID-19 tests have been administered with 2,829 results coming back negative and 130 results pending.
