A single COVID-19 case reported in Hidalgo County

For the second day in a row, only a single new case of COVID-19 has been reported in Hidalgo County, officials reported Sunday.

The new case comes from an Edinburg woman in her 20s who is now the 341st case of this strain of coronavirus in Hidalgo County, the release stated.

A total of 196 people have been released from isolation meaning they have shown no symptoms for ten days or fever for three days. That means Hidalgo County now has a total active caseload of 151 people.

“On the first weekend after relaxing countywide restrictions, these are encouraging trends,” Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez said. “But we must remain vigilant and continue to exercise caution.”

12 people remain in ara hospitals and three are in intensive care units. 4,358 tests have been administered with 3,897 tests coming back negative and 120 results still pending as of Sunday, the release stated.
