Hidalgo County COVID-19 cases rise to 457

Nine more people in Hidalgo County have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total amount of cases to 457.

In a Tuesday news release, the county added that 368 COVID-19 tests have been performed through a partnership between the Texas State Guard and Texas Department of Emergency Management since last Wednesday.

14 people remain hospitalized with complications from the virus and three of those cases are being treated in intensive care units.  The county also announced three people were released from isolation meaning that they have been symptom free for 10 days, including three days without a fever. There are currently 190 active cases and 527 test results are pending.
