Hidalgo County COVID-19 cases increases by 10, Starr County sees 1 new case
Ten more people have tested positive for COVID-19 bringing the total number of known cases of the virus to 467, the county announced in a Wednesday news release.
12 people remain hospitalized with complications from the virus and three of those cases are being treated in intensive care units. Seven people were released from isolation meaning that they have been symptom free for 10 days, including three days without a fever. There are currently 193 active and 518 test results are pending out of a total of 7,718 tests administered by the county.
Starr County Health Authority Dr. Jose Vasquez confirmed Wednesday that Starr County saw one new case, a 17-year-old male who was tested in a private facility and had direct contact with a previous case.
